They say love is blinding, right?!
That is why I love hometown dates so much. All of the girls parents and siblings are able to bring them down from their love bubble, and really bring them back to reality. But of course there are many cons to go along with the hometown dates.
One of the major downfall's is that it is probably very disappointing to hear from your own father that Mr. Ben Higgins himself, is dating three other women, (like Caila had to hear from her father).
Like you weren't already completely aware that he is falling in love with three other people, and you truly have no clue how far along their relationship is compared to yours.
That is probably heart-wrenching to hear from your own family. On the opposite end, as a parent (not that I would know, I am just assuming). I am sure it is difficult for them to sit there and hear what he has to say about how amazing their daughter is, knowing that he is saying that to three other families as well (again what Caila's dad pointed out).
Besides for me not really agreeing with the way JoJo's brother went about getting to know Ben or for the lack of better words "interrogating" him. They did bring up one valid point, they have only been on two dates together, TWO DATES(!!!) and JoJo is already saying she is in love with him. If you think of that realistically, no person would ever be in love with someone after two dates, they would legit be crazy. But hey that is what that show is all about so it is understandable, I guess.
But over all throughout all the drama that went on with JoJo's hometown date they were luckily able to move past that. Of course Caila stayed true to her adorable personality and they built a toy house together as their date. Relatively hometown dates went well, not to many cringe worthy moments.
The first pit stop was right in California to see Amanda! It was so adorable and pulled on my heart strings to see how Ben interacted with Amanda's kids. But I do have to agree with Amanda's mom he will be a great dad one day, but not an, "instant dad." I think for the sake of both of them it wouldn't be fair to get thrown into a relationship right away with two young kiddies. They are still so new to each other and have not learned everything about each other. So their relationships would for sure have been put on the back burner, and they would have taken a few steps back from what they already have. (*Spoiler*) I do think it was kind of expected that Amanda was not going to get the rose.
Side note I just need to say that JoJo's mom is my spirit animal, chugging champagne right from the bottle, you go girl.
Just so you don't always have my views about how the night goes, here is some thoughts from a hopeless romantic that knows a lot about the Bachelor, and Bachelor in Paradise. Former contestant Ashley I, does a weekly recap of her thoughts and views, since she has gone through it all, one to many times. I chose to use her Cosmopolitan.com review because I think we have a lot of the same views, especially about the very dramatic entrance of JoJo's ex-boyfriend. (Ashely I's recap.)
Next week I can not wait, final three in Jamaica! Best of all it is fantasy suite time, where they get to "jump each other's bones" if they both want to or course, (Ben's words from about five episodes ago by the way, but I totally dig how he says that). But of course who would not want too?! After all he is currently the most eligible bachelor. But I guess we will have to see how it all goes down, and see how all their emotions run even higher then ever.
Cheers to Bachelor Monday's
The go-to Bachelor blog. Everything you were thinking about during the show, I am just saying it.

20 years: A Celebration of Love
2.15.16
This Valentine's weekend the Bachelor producers gave us a little something extra to look forward too. Not only did we have our two-hour episode to look forward to on Monday night, but this time there was a wedding special on Sunday night, Jade and Tanner tied the knot. Just so you all can place a face with the name, here is a picture from @jadelizroper Instagram from her magical day.
It kinda bizarre how it all worked out Jade was originally on Chris Soules season of the Bachelor and Tanner was on Kaitlyn Bristowe's season of the Bachelorette, neither of them making it to the end obviously.
But because us hopeless romantics didn't think that the Bachelor and the Bachelorette is enough, they decided to create a show called "Bachelor in Paradise". Long story short this is where Tanner and Jade were able to fall in love in "paradise" (Mexico).
Aside from their uber luxurious wedding that was put on for the happy couple, many attendees from previous seasons were there to share on Jade and Tanner's special day. All time favorite Chris Harrison was there to show us interview clips, fan favorites from each season, crazy people that we endured throughout all those episodes, and of course the most dramatic clips from the past 20 years of this franchise, because what would this show be without the drama, right?!
Along with all this there were a couple of couples that made it through the stereotype that these relationships would not work out. Many of them actually survived and now are happily married and a lot of them have children. We were all able to see a tiny glance into their lives now and see how they made everything work.
But best of all we were able to see America's current heartthrob Ben Higgins! (that is probably very biased but its okay since after all this is the Bachelor Blog!) He was able to make a little appearance at their wedding, throughout all the craziness that is going on in his own life.
Now lets fast-foward to Monday night:
As the show progresses on, relationships get stronger and emotions run higher. I am not going to go on very much about this week's episode because nothing too crazy happened. They are all now just able to have their one-on-one time with Ben and they really get to evolve their relationships.
So now I will just jump ahead of the best part of the show these days (rose ceremony) because you get to see who he is really feeling and you get to make your bets on who is going to win the final rose. So with that being said (SPOILER ALERT!) Becca and Emily were sent home.
Can't wait to tune in for next week's episode, hometown dates! This is when the families of the women get to grill Ben and ask him very awkward and uncomfortable questions.

Bahamas!!
2.8.16
Normally when you think of the Bahamas you think of smooth blue waters & clear skies, but it was not all smooth sailing on this weeks episode of the Bachelor. (Side note I am pretty sure this is the most traveling they have ever done in a season of the Bachelor.) But not only was there rocky waters (pun intended) the dreaded two-on-one date has finally arrived.
Every season there is always a handful of girls that we know nothing about. Maybe they are not as outgoing as the rest and do not get as much camera time as the others, and in this weeks episode we finally saw the girl who was not really shown, Leah. We literally knew nothing about the poor girl, this far in the show she has never received a one-on-one date with Ben, and now girls are getting their second opportunity.
It is actually very sad for her, I am sure she gave up a lot to come on this show and she is not getting what she expected out of it. But its probably so overwhelming to compete with all those other girls, your true personality might not always shine through. With all this being said, I did feel very bad for the girl until she started lying right to everyone's face when she decided to bring down Lauren B, because everything was not going the way she wanted it to.
Never should you have to bring down others and speak badly and untrue things just trying to get a leg up on them. So fast-foward to when her and her "future husband" finally have a chance to talk, and all she does is bash other girls, thats not a good move Leah, so obviously Ben said adios to her while in the Bahamas.
The next major milestone that happened in this weeks episode was that Olivia left. I will repeat OLIVIA IS GONE. After her and Emily went on a two-on-one date, Ben finally saw Olivia's true colors and said goodbye. Obliviously she was completely heart-broken because she was "in love" with Ben since the first episode.
But boy do the coming attractions of what is to come sure do look juicy. ANNDD we saw the ring he chooses!! Honestly this is the best part, and let me tell ya it was stunning. Ben my friend, you have a great eye for the perfect engagement ring.

"VIVA LA MEXICO"-Ben Higgins
2.1.16
Las Vegas to Mexico City the girls go!
Olivia darling, you are physically stunning but we are still not sure if you are as beautiful inside as you are outside. For everyone's sake you need to please jump off your high horse and take a step back and realize you are not the only one competing for Ben's heart. Once again... the episode was based off the attention seeking queen, Olivia. Without going into too much depth about what I think of her, here are my thought on this weeks episodes: Las Vegas to Mexico City the girls go!
They literally do the best job filming Olivia, always getting her with the best facial expressions (we all know the creepy open-mouth look)
Not to mention, Amanda, waking up with a full face of makeup on... just like Britt did on Chris Soules season of the Bachelor.
Lauren H is sometimes TOO enthusiastic but let's be real, It's kind of adorable.
Jubilee has become so negative and insecure throughout this process, you can really tell what this experience does to some people.
Ben doesn't even finish his sentence and Olivia is already asking to take him away to talk before any of the other girls have a chance (whether she has a rose or not)
Jubilee has the worst expression on her face. (RBF- resting b***h face, for those who are not not fully aware of that term.)
*Ben & Lauren B, sittin' in a tree*- they are really going for it in the streets of Mexico City, no shame in their make out game.
Jubilee just dug herself a grave (RIP any future between her and Ben)
Yes Ben, honesty is key. Takes so much to actually speak the truth.
The fact that Olivia said "I feel like I'm on an episode of Teen Mom" probably one of the meanest and most judgmental things I have ever heard.
NOOO cliffhangers are the absolute worst! I guess we will be meeting up next week to see who goes home on next episode of the Bachelor, tune in!
