Couples that made their love last after cameras

4.11.16

You may be wondering is this love is real? Are people really crazy enough to get engaged after two months of knowing each other?! The answer is yes! Believe it or not after 20 seasons people are still daring enough to give a shot of love on a reality television show. Lets take a trip back in time a little and see who made it through the & lasted once all the cameras left.

1. From the very first season of the Bachelorette Trista Rehn choose Ryan Sutter to be her happily ever after. 20 seasons later they are still very much in love.

2.  Season 17 was a very well know season when Sean Lowe, a born again virgin, asked Catherine Giudici to be his wife. Now a couple years later they are expecting!

3.  Last but certainly not least, my all time favorite couple Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth. They are not married yet, they do not have any kids yet, they are taking it step by step one day at a time. They are the most fun & loving couple I have seen yet and really took advantage of the show in finding each other sole mates throughout the whole process.

The 5 things that make JoJo so normal

4.4.16

The day is slowing approaching when JoJo will officially be The Bachelorette(πŸŽ‰)! So with that being said I thought we should get to know a little more about this gem. Going through her Twitter feed I realized she is way more normal then I thought she would ever be, she is just like any other girl out there. Just take a look for yourself.

She is all about living outside of her comfort zone & knows sometimes ya just gotta take that leap of faith.

Obviously wine is always the answer and we completely agree with her. If you didn't know she is referring the the hometown dates episode with her mama drinking straight out of the bottle in the kitchen🍷

Although her wardrobe is one of the best I have ever seen...she shops at normal stores just like us, and understands when you see a perfect top you just have to get it!  πŸ’Έ

She gets the feels when a man looks at her a certain way...ladies I know we have all been there.

Lastly she knows what the three most important things in life are...

5 things you need to know about the new bachelorette, JoJo

3.28.16

Monday's no longer give us the warm cuddly feeling of knowing we are about to cuddle up on the couch with a glass of wine to indulge in The Bachelor πŸ˜₯. But that will all be changing very soon, now that they announced JoJo as the bachelorette (!!!!). SO. EXCITED, if y'all could not tell. As if the bachelor was not good enough, we are going to have 20-something attractive men to drool over. Talk about major eye candy. With all that being said here are five things I found out through shamelessly stalking Joelle's Instagram page....

1. You must love dogs..there are multiple up and down her feed of her precious pup Jackson.

A photo posted by JoJo Fletcher (@joelle_fletcher) on

2.  You should probably love a good glass of wine also, or possibly a bottle. Along with a sense of humor if we all recall the episode of her mama drinking straight from the bottle, hence the hashtag #mamaknowsbest.

3. The girls has got style!!! I mean if she did not wow us every week on The Bachelor with her outfit choices, I can not imagine what she is gonna be rocking on The Bachelorette.

4. She loves her brothers more then anything, and they feel the same way about here. If you remember back to home town dates and how protective they are...very heartwarming. (future boys better watch out for them...)

5. Lastly, she is all about positivity and being true to yourself...que the inspirational Instagram picture.

Google Maps Project for class

This technique will be extremely helpful if I ever find myself working for a company where they just have a list of locations like the Jacksonville pools were set up. It is much easier to find locations this way, it makes it easier for you and the consumer.

The Final Rose

3.14.16

The day has finally arrived. The final rose ceremony, the day Ben chooses the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with. Lets just really quickly talk about how excited I am (!!!) just like half of the women population that choose to indulge in this show. We have waited so many weeks to see who Ben decided to choose. We have made multiple guesses, thrown many Bachelor viewing parties and the night has FINALLY arrived. Not only are humans extremely excited about this night, but there were some four-legged animals that just couldn't resit showing their excitement as well, AKA Pippa, Jade's dog. If you recall Jade just recently got married a couple of weeks ago when the Bachelor did a special "20 years of Love." You can read all about it on one of my previous blogs πŸ˜‰.

photo from Jade Roper Instagram
Aside from this adorable pup, there was so much anticipation leading up to this long drawn out two-hour episode, where we really only care about the last fifteen minutes of the show (more about that later). There were so many polls on Twitter about guessing the winner, and of course I had to partake and put my input in (duh I voted for JoJo.) But as you can see Lauren B won out on the poll...

Lets me break it down really quick for those of you that do not know, the last fifteen minutes are when we find out who the "chosen one" is. But the first eight minutes or so of that fifteen minutes is all about the girl that does not get picked.
Once the first girl arrives you already know it is not her that he chooses, so you have to sit there in heartbreak and listen to her pour her heart out about how much she "loves him", and how she wants to spend the rest of her life with him, while he is just standing there with a blank expression. Then when he finally decides to open his mouth that is when he tells her the terrible news that she is not the one, and she painfully has to hear about how he really did love her, but just not as much as the other girl, then she gets shipped off in a helicopter(this season) while trying to process everything that just happened.

via GIPHY

But back to the good stuff, *spoiler* if you all didn't already know, Lauren B received the final rose, engagement ring, love of her life Ben Higgins.
Through out the entire episode you really had no clue who he was going to pick, he had such strong feelings for them both, as did the ladies. Nothing went wrong, nothing out of the ordinary, there was just one person he could not picture life without and that is how he made his final decision.
We had no clue if he even had a clue the entire time, until the one pivotal moment of when he was picking out the engagement ring. I think once he saw the rings sitting in front of him that really made it real for him and at that moment he knew, it had to be Lauren.

What they both had to confess and say to each other was so endearing and adorable, and although the girl I was rooting for did not get picked, its okay there is always better things waiting out there *hint hint*. But honestly so happy for Lauren and Ben they deserve nothing but happiness and love after this crazy journey.

One final tweet from the no-longer Bachelor Ben, which I am sure he is thrilled about, Monday's will no longer be the same for him...
But as we found out on the after show, Jo Jo is going to be the NEXT BACHELORETTE!!!!!! Ahhhhh so stoked, she is stunning, smart and has a great personality and I am sure any guy would kill to her her. So more on the new Bachelorette coming next week!

Women. Tell. All.

3.7.16

I can't believe that in only THREE short days (from when I am posting this) we will be finding out if Ben chooses Lauren B or JoJo to be his future wife!!

Seems like just yesterday all 20 something girls were stepping out of the limo making their first impressions. Anyway. Let's get to the recap of the best episode of the season: Women Tell All.

Is it just me or does it always seem to be the girls who were on the show for two seconds who do all of the talking?*sips wine*  I found myself cringing every time Jamie and Amber opened their mouth. They were both so irrelevant on the show yet tried to make themselves relevant by attacking some of the other ladies every chance they got. Race has and always will be a very touchy subject on The Bachelor.

Apparently Jubilee made some remarks on the show that offended Jamie and Amber. Not to go in too much detail, they made it seem as if Jubilee said she was going to be the black woman who will make it the farthest on the show.
After a very long game of he said she said, Jubilee apologized if she offended anyone and and the Women Tell All continued.

Chris Harrison then called Jubilee to the hot seat. In a nut shell, they discussed her relationship with Ben and how she felt very "unloveable." Chris tried the best he could to comfort her and let her know she's a very unique woman and anyone would be lucky to have her.

Moving on.

Lace was next to sit down in the hot seat. I was truly shocked when I saw her sitting up there but at the same time I knew Women Tell All wouldn't be complete without the infamous Lace. Basically she took responsibility for her behavior the first few weeks of the show and says she has finally followed the advice of her tattoo "you can not love someone else until you fully love yourself."

Lace proceeded to mention that she in not quite there yet. Moments after making that remark, a random guy from the audience. stepped up and said "you may be crazy but you are crazy beautiful" and revealed a tattoo on his side of Lace's face. I was so taken back by this. I'm sure that gave Lace the boost of confidence she needed.

The last two girls to go in the hot seat were Caila and Olivia. Caila was very composed and wished her best for Ben. You could definitely see how much she loved him and that she was still struggling. However, she is a very classy woman and wouldn't let her feelings get the best of her. Her conversation with Chris was very brief. Nothing to really touch on.

However, Olivia's conversation was one for the books(is anyone really surprised by this?!). I was actually finding myself feeling very sorry for her as she was in tears. All of the girls (especially the twins) had lots of things to say about her behavior on the show. As we all know, Olivia wasn't seeking friendship and didn't care who she brought down in her path. Two of the main things the girls had a problem with was her remark to Amanda saying her life reminds her of an episode of Teen Mom (RUDDDE!)  and also her constant remark that she likes to read and talk smart things and that is why she didn't engage with the other girls. Many took offense to that as they thought she was calling them stupid. In the end, Olivia sincerely apologized to everyone (especially Amanda) and the girls seemed to be very forgiving.

Lastly, it was Ben's turn in the hot seat! Surprisingly, there was zero drama. All of the ladies had nothing but nice things to say to him. They all wished him the best. And he made a point to let Caila know he really did care for her but that it just wasn't meant to be. He then proceeded to say he is very much in love and that if he could get married tomorrow he would(YAY!!).

The anticipation continues! Can't wait until Monday!

LA --> Jamaica

3.1.16

As week 9 of 'The Bachelor' was approaching I realized I wasn't half as excited as I have been the past few weeks for my Monday night ritual. Partly because no glass of wine was in hand, and I didn't have my bestie watching with me.

But in all reality now that Ben is down to three girls it's becoming easier and easier to figure out who is going to be the "chosen one."

If you didn't get the chance to watch this past Monday that's okay. I'm your girl and I got you covered. Here's a quick recap on all the key moments of the episode.

Let's start with Caila.

Date went pretty well during the day. Nothing to really touch on there. So we can skip that and move on to the good part.

Caila was the first of the three to confess her love to Ben on the episode. I'm sure you could have guessed this, but Ben does not reciprocate. He "appreciates" her opening up and just goes in for a smooch to distract her from the fact he is not saying it back. Then moves on to offering her the fantasy suite key. NOT COOL BEN. Way to send mixed signals.

Next up: Lauren B. From the very beginning Lauren and Ben have had an undeniable connection.

Definitely am not surprised she has made it to the top three. Although she does annoy me a little, can't deny that Ben feels the strongest towards this one.

Their date went very well. They got to watch baby sea turtles hatch and help them make it to sea. I'll spare you all the little details. Moving on to dinner their fun day together continues.

After sipping on some wine Lauren finally works up the courage to tell Ben she is in love with him. Before I could even register it in my brain that she confessed her love to him, Ben immediately says it back without any hesitation at all. So I'm sure you can guess what comes next. Yep. You guessed it. He offers her the fantasy suite key. And without hesitation as well, she accepts.

Lastly: Jojo. I must say she is my all time favorite. She is absolutely gorgeous, funny, smart. She can be serious but doesn't take life so seriously.

Ben seems to always have a great time with her and he can truly be himself and live in the moment. So if I were Ben, I'd be choosing this one.

Their date went well. Again, not many things to touch on that really stuck out until dinner. Jojo is the last to confess her love to Ben. What happens next completely blew my mind. Ben tells Jojo he is in love with her as well! I do not think this has happened once on bachelor/bachelorette history. GAME CHANGER.

So after the three dates come to an end it is easy to assume who goes home this week. Ehem, Caila.
Fortunately, Ben had the decency to send her home before the ceremony but that didn't seem to make a difference to Caila.

Obviously she was blind sided and upset and decided to take that time with Ben to ask any questions she had. Her main concern: did Ben know he felt this way before Jamaica?
In my opinion, yes. But of course Ben was able to sugar coat his answer to put her mind at ease a little. So Caila packed her bags and was on her way.

Out of a form of pure torture, the producers are dragging it out and making us wait a dreaded TWO weeks (we feel the same way Lauren B), until we get to see who Ben gets down on one knee for (*swooning*)  and pull out that beautiful rock.

Until then next week we look forward to the women tell all special, which I assume will entail some highly anticipated drama. Talk to ya next week.

"Are you ready to be an 'instant dad'? "

2.22.16

They say love is blinding, right?!
That is why I love hometown dates so much. All of the girls parents and siblings are able to bring them down from their love bubble, and really bring them back to reality. But of course there are many cons to go along with the hometown dates.
One of the major downfall's is that it is probably very disappointing to hear from your own father that Mr. Ben Higgins himself, is dating three other women, (like Caila had to hear from her father).
Like you weren't already completely aware that he is falling in love with three other people, and you truly have no clue how far along their relationship is compared to yours.
That is probably heart-wrenching to hear from your own family. On the opposite end, as a parent (not that I would know, I am just assuming). I am sure it is difficult for them to sit there and hear what he has to say about how amazing their daughter is, knowing that he is saying that to three other families as well (again what Caila's dad pointed out).

Besides for me not really agreeing with the way JoJo's brother went about getting to know Ben or for the lack of better words "interrogating" him. They did bring up one valid point, they have only been on two dates together, TWO DATES(!!!) and JoJo is already saying she is in love with him. If you think of that realistically, no person would ever be in love with someone after two dates, they would legit be crazy.  But hey that is what that show is all about so it is understandable, I guess.

But over all throughout all the drama that went on with JoJo's hometown date they were luckily able to move past that. Of course Caila stayed true to her adorable personality and they built a toy house together as their date. Relatively hometown dates went well, not to many cringe worthy moments.
The first pit stop was right in California to see Amanda! It was so adorable and pulled on my heart strings to see how Ben interacted with Amanda's kids. But I do have to agree with Amanda's mom he will be a great dad one day, but not an, "instant dad." I think for the sake of both of them it wouldn't be fair to get thrown into a relationship right away with two young kiddies. They are still so new to each other and have not learned everything about each other. So their relationships would for sure have been put on the back burner, and they would have taken a few steps back from what they already have. (*Spoiler*) I do think it was kind of expected that Amanda was not going to get the rose.

Side note I just need to say that JoJo's mom is my spirit animal, chugging champagne right from the bottle, you go girl.

Just so you don't always have my views about how the night goes, here is some thoughts from a hopeless romantic that knows a lot about the Bachelor, and Bachelor in Paradise. Former contestant Ashley I, does a weekly recap of her thoughts and views, since she has gone through it all, one to many times.  I chose to use her Cosmopolitan.com review because I think we have a lot of the same views, especially about the very dramatic entrance of JoJo's ex-boyfriend. (Ashely I's recap.)

Next week I can not wait, final three in Jamaica! Best of all it is fantasy suite time, where they get to "jump each other's bones" if they both want to or course, (Ben's words from about five episodes ago by the way, but I totally dig how he says that). But of course who would not want too?! After all he is currently the most eligible bachelor. But I guess we will have to see how it all goes down, and see how all their emotions run even higher then ever.

Cheers to Bachelor Monday's

20 years: A Celebration of Love

2.15.16

This Valentine's weekend the Bachelor producers gave us a little something extra to look forward too. Not only did we have our two-hour episode to look forward to on Monday night,  but this time there was a wedding special on Sunday night, Jade and Tanner tied the knot. Just so you all can place a face with the name, here is a picture from @jadelizroper Instagram from her magical day.

It kinda bizarre how it all worked out Jade was originally on Chris Soules season of the Bachelor and Tanner was on Kaitlyn Bristowe's season of the Bachelorette, neither of them making it to the end obviously.
But because us hopeless romantics didn't think that the Bachelor and the Bachelorette is enough, they decided to create a show called "Bachelor in Paradise". Long story short this is where Tanner and Jade were able to fall in love in "paradise" (Mexico).
Aside from their uber luxurious wedding that was put on for the happy couple, many attendees from previous seasons were there to share on Jade and Tanner's special day. All time favorite Chris Harrison was there to show us interview clips, fan favorites from each season, crazy people that we endured throughout all those episodes, and of course the most dramatic clips from the past 20 years of this franchise, because what would this show be without the drama, right?!

Along with all this there were a couple of couples that made it through the stereotype that these relationships would not work out. Many of them actually survived and now are happily married and a lot of them have children. We were all able to see a tiny glance into their lives now and see how they made everything work.

But best of all we were able to see America's current heartthrob Ben Higgins! (that is probably very biased but its okay since after all this is the Bachelor Blog!) He was able to make a little appearance at their wedding, throughout all the craziness that is going on in his own life.

Now lets fast-foward to Monday night:
As the show progresses on, relationships get stronger and emotions run higher. I am not going to go on very much about this week's episode because nothing too crazy happened. They are all now just able to have their one-on-one time with Ben and they really get to evolve their relationships.
So now I will just jump ahead of the best part of the show these days (rose ceremony) because you get to see who he is really feeling and you get to make your bets on who is going to win the final rose. So with that being said  (SPOILER ALERT!) Becca and Emily were sent home.
Can't wait to tune in for next week's episode, hometown dates! This is when the families of the women get to grill Ben and ask him very awkward and uncomfortable questions.

Bahamas!!

2.8.16
Normally when you think of the Bahamas you think of smooth blue waters & clear skies, but it was not all smooth sailing on this weeks episode of the Bachelor. (Side note I am pretty sure this is the most traveling they have ever done in a season of the Bachelor.) But not only was there rocky waters (pun intended)  the dreaded two-on-one date has finally arrived.
Every season there is always a handful of girls that we know nothing about. Maybe they are not as outgoing as the rest and do not get as much camera time as the others, and in this weeks episode we finally saw the girl who was not really shown, Leah. We literally knew nothing about the poor girl, this far in the show she has never received a one-on-one date with Ben, and now girls are getting their second opportunity.
It is actually very sad for her, I am sure she gave up a lot to come on this show and she is not getting what she expected out of it. But its probably so overwhelming to compete with all those other girls, your true personality might not always shine through. With all this being said, I did feel very bad for the girl until she started lying right to everyone's face when she decided to bring down Lauren B, because everything was not going the way she wanted it to.
Never should you have to bring down others and speak badly and untrue things just trying to get a leg up on them. So fast-foward to when her and her "future husband" finally have a chance to talk, and all she does is bash other girls, thats not a good move Leah, so obviously Ben said adios to her while in the Bahamas.
The next major milestone that happened in this weeks episode was that Olivia left. I will repeat OLIVIA IS GONE. After her and Emily went on a two-on-one date, Ben finally saw Olivia's true colors and said goodbye. Obliviously she was completely heart-broken because she was "in love" with Ben since the first episode.
But boy do the coming attractions of what is to come sure do look juicy. ANNDD we saw the ring he chooses!! Honestly this is the best part, and let me tell ya it was stunning. Ben my friend, you have a great eye for the perfect engagement ring.

"VIVA LA MEXICO"-Ben Higgins

2.1.16
Las Vegas to Mexico City the girls go!
Olivia darling, you are physically stunning but we are still not sure if you are as beautiful inside as you are outside. For everyone's sake you need to please jump off your high horse and take a step back and realize you are not the only one competing for Ben's heart. Once again... the episode was based off the attention seeking queen, Olivia. Without going into too much depth about what I think of her, here are my thought on this weeks episodes:
They literally do the best job filming Olivia, always getting her with the best facial expressions (we all know the creepy open-mouth look)
Not to mention, Amanda, waking up with a full face of makeup on... just like Britt did on Chris Soules season of the Bachelor.
Lauren H is sometimes TOO enthusiastic but let's be real, It's kind of adorable.
Jubilee has become so negative and insecure throughout this process, you can really tell what this experience does to some people.
Ben doesn't even finish his sentence and Olivia is already asking to take him away to talk before any of the other girls have a chance (whether she has a rose or not)
Jubilee has the worst expression on her face. (RBF- resting b***h face, for those who are not not fully aware of that term.)
*Ben & Lauren B, sittin' in a tree*- they are really going for it in the streets of Mexico City, no shame in their make out game.
Jubilee just dug herself a grave (RIP any future between her and Ben)
Yes Ben, honesty is key. Takes so much to actually speak the truth.
The fact that Olivia said "I feel like I'm on an episode of Teen Mom" probably one of the meanest and most judgmental things I have ever heard.
NOOO cliffhangers are the absolute worst! I guess we will be meeting up next week to see who goes home on next episode of the Bachelor, tune in!

Los Angeles to Vegas they go!

1.26.16
Just like many of us overly-obsessed Bachelor fans, there are many celebrities that feel the same way about the show. Many have viewing parties that include your usual wine, popcorn and chocolates. But some go as far as having Bachelor-inspired clothing made for them. Such as the pictures below  that two celebs posted on their Instagram page, Allison Williams (bachelor themed Snuggie) and Kaley Cuoco (Ben's face printed on her leggings) are shameless to admit how obsessed they are with Ben and the show!
Anyway back to what actually happened this week on the show...VEGAS!!! Vegas is very much known for all its neon lights, entertainment acts and of course for being the marriage capital of the world. And what do you know all three of those things happened through out the course of the show. Becca and Ben went to a neon-sign graveyard, as well as officiating multiple weddings that happened at one of the many chapels all down the strip. But the main event was the talent show, the girls had to put on in front of a live (that is right LIVE) audience in Las Vegas, which has some of the toughest crowds around.
This week I am just going to highlight some of the most exciting parts (well exciting to me and my roommate) :
First off Olivia needs to slow her role already claiming Ben and saying, "he's mine." No honey its only episode four.
Shocking, I have more to say about Olivia, when she starts to have a "panic attack"(which I do feel bad for her) after a performance they had to put on in front of a live audience in Vegas and she all the sudden becomes very embarrassed and says, " I don't want to be on camera" girl, do you know what show you are on... there are cameras around 24/7 that is what creates the drama!
But as I have said before Ben is one of the most genuine Bachelor's they have had in a very long time, and I think that showed a lot through out tonights episode. He is always asking the girls what he can do to make them feel more comfortable and confident in their relationship (if that is even possible in this situation).  But it mainly showed when he "read vows" to Becca, I am a firm believer that every girl that was watching just melted into their couches and fell in love with Ben even more.

I don't know about y'all but let me tell you next weeks previews look so juicy, the notorious Olivia tells a beautiful of age mother of two that she feels like she is on an episode of "Teen Mom" when she is with her and doesn't understand why Ben would date her...and as many of you can guess that does not go over so well.

The Bachelor Blog

1.18.16
Yet another week has passed and it is another Bachelor Monday (silently screaming inside), lets be honest, if we did not have this show to look forward too Monday’s would drag on even more then they do. So remember how I talked about in my last post how do you even know what to pack for this kinda event, occasion, experiment?! Still not really sure what to call this sort of thing any more! But some of the girls were talking about how Olivia dropped $40,000 on clothes for this! FOURTY THOUSAND DOLLARS. My jaw dropped just about as big as hers every time she hears something crazy. Any way back to the whole purpose of my blog posting, what everyone was thinking during The Bachelor, I am just saying it...
Jubilee, how are you going to say going on a one-on-one date is going to be the best moment of your life….really that’s the BEST moment?
LB with the win for the coolest date hands down
Apparently hot tubs are Ben’s go to.
WHY…oh why do they never eat the food?!
Yet another awkward mini concert and slow dance.
Olivia girl that is so shady you yelling from the balcony to all the girls, and Ben is not feeling it, just look at how uncomfortable he is.
Gotta give it to you though Olivia preach how “perfection is so lame.”
Olivia you are NOT crying about you have “cankles” and how people write blogs about your legs so you can relate to the pain Ben is going through of a death of a family friend…..
But on that note welcome to the club girl (that’s what I imagine all the other girls are thinking) you do not automatically get a rose every time honey.
Olivia you have officially gone Bachelor CRAZY with all these “signs” you think Ben’s specific touches mean.
…and last but definitely not least Lace left on her own!!! I repeat Lace is no longer competing for Ben’s love y’all. Wow rereading this I mention Olivia's name a whole lot...must mean something.
Now that you have my take on how I thought The Bachelor went and what I was thinking the whole time, here is Ben’s personal blog about the night.

Monday nights are the best

Being that this is my first bachelor post I just want to say a few things before we dive in, I absolutely love The Bachelor for some unknown reason, possibly deep down I am a hopeless romantic, maybe not, who really knows, but in no way do I think a women should ever have to compete for a mans attention like this. In no way should they have to feel like they are in “last place” and need to be worried they wont be liked. They are each equally beautiful and interesting in all their own ways! They should not have to deal with the unnecessary heartbreak and drama with the other girls they are living with.

But with all of that being said these are just the random thoughts of two girls (me and my roommate) watching one of our favorite shows together wishing we has a glass of wine in hand, also constantly wondering how someone even knows what to pack for this kinda thing. If you completely despise watching The Bachelor or even talking about it for that matter then I am sorry that you are reading this, but hey just find the funny/weird/overly-dramatic thing in every situation, at least that’s what I do!
